The fees charged to campers for their stay at camp covers the operating costs of camp. They do not cover the expenses of needed improvements.

The first phase for updating the cabins was completed in 2008 when new bunk beds were purchased to replace the old metal bunks. The new bunks have built-in safety features and are a big hit. Having additional bunks beds has allowed us to accommodate larger families in more cabins.

Recent surveys suggest it's time to replace the dressers, remaining double beds, clean up the graffiti, and fix the flooring in all the cabins. Our goal is to raise $70,000 over three years and provide the labor to complete these improvements

We know that the City of Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department has lost more than 50% of its funding during these past two years. It will take time before capital funds will be available for camp. That is why we are moving forward with this campaign and seek your help.

Friends of Camp Sacramento is dedicating this campaign to the cabin improvements and would like your support in improving camp for all campers.
